Affirmation for February 2, 2011: Groundhog Says A Shorter Winter!
The sky is clear. Prepare for warmth!
- Punxsutawney Phil, groundhog, February 2, 2011
Thought of the day:
For those unfamiliar with the history of Groundhog Day, it started with German settlers in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, who postulated that if the sun came out, the groundhog would see his shadow and six more months of winter would ensue. But if he didn't see his shadow, winter would end early.
This year, at the annual ceremony in Pennsylvania, no shadow was seen, which hopefully means that the winter will be cut short this year. In our thoughts especially are those caught in the dreadful storms in the Midwest and East Coast, which are currently causing travel chaos.
