Affirmation for December 26, 2012: Opinions

I never considered a difference of opinionin politics, in religion, in philosophy,as cause for withdrawing from a friend.- Thomas JeffersonThought of the day:Sometimes an opinion that is starkly different than your own can be hard to swallow. It's easy to jump right into trying to convince others to see things your way, and maybe even thinking that the other person is wrong for thinking the way they do. It might even incite a serious argument, depending on the nature of the matter. But the beauty of this difference of opinions is that they have the ability to help you think differently. And the people behind those conflicting opinions can help you grow as an individual by challenging you to support your points of view with an articulated argument that they can understand.
Ultimately, friends that think differently than you do can be a great asset, not only for the sake of interesting conversation, but also because they help you become who you are by thinking in different ways than you might have otherwise.Have an opinionated day!

yes i mean do those differences mean we withdraw from friends ? that seems an inhuman barrier, that as differences occur barriers go into place
i dont use those barriers either, its unnatural. arent we all just a pack of humans walking about on the earth whoever and where ever we are ?

It can be hard to not withdraw in the heat of the moment or thereafter but I don\'t ultimately. I always like to hear both sides of a conflict so I can truly be educated on my own point of view otherwise how can we be educated and stand strong on our own? I found that out when I tried to have a strong opinion against vaccines.

I withdraw...isolate...it is usually when I feel disconnected, alone. I tell my freinds politics are not worth losing a freind over...but I also set a boundary. Plzdon\'t talk politics.
