Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. ~ Thomas A. Edison

At what point do you say enough? I recently found my youngest estranged daughter's address. It was a beautiful day and I honestly thought if she saw me in person, she'd be willing to talk things out. Boy, was I ever wrong! Not only did she slam and lock the door in my face, she called the police and had a no-tresspass warning issued against me!
Most will give up when they have an environment that will allow them to give up when the going gets tough, I've seen this in school, especially when the housing industry was booming, they would get a brand-new house so within months-- would drop out. I forced myself to plod through the tough spell, to get over the mountain and once I did, I felt so proud of myself for hanging in there; it taught me to not ever give up. I also asked God to give me strength and wisdom everyday to get through this.
I don't honestly know how to live my life without my son. He's my only family. My health isn't good, my mind is young even if I'm not - but where do I go from here knowing the one person in my life who accepted me, doesn't anymore? Literally, no family. Oh, they're out there but they went to great lengths to put great distance between them and my family. Now my EC want me to stay away. The older I get and the more I go thru, the more I treasure life and living. My mother used to tell me the whole world can't be wrong - that it must be me. I fought against that thinking, but as it pertains to me, I guess she was right. So, in knowing that, how do I look forward? At the same time, I know my ES has been thru incredible pain and loss. That's why I hung in there so long and held on to hope of reconciliation. We had been wonderfully close. As Mimi152 said, at what point do you say enough? Our EC are our flesh. I've had that door shut in my face, too. It's horrible and I told myself it would be different; just keep trying. I don't know why this kind of situation in any of our lives should ever exist. It's just plain wrong. The only way is with the Lord. He knows what we're all going thru and truly cares. Ask Him to call down your angels to encamp around you. No matter what stage of pain we're in, He's the only answer. May His grace rest on all of us.
