Affirmation for December 10, 2009: Eleanor Roosevelt

I think that somehow, we learn who we really are and then live with that decision. ~Eleanor Roosevelt  Diplomat & reformer (1884 - 1962)   Thought for today:   I think I know myself well at this point but occasionally I still surprise myself. New challenges and opportunities bring out things in me that I didn't know existed. It's one of the joys of being alive, I guess.   Have a great day!   Doug       Remember, you can also receive DailyStrength updates by following us on Twitter and Facebook.

I love that quote! I think learning who we really are is at the heart of mental health. That translates into loving ourselves in a healthy way and then from there knowing how to love others, which is what I beleive we\'re made for.

I\'ve heard that we replace all of our human cells approximately every seven years, except bones! Our DNA determines each individual, end of story, so we are what we are. Why do we want to change then? Is it some other persons ideal moral judgement, their DNA\'s idea!
Yes, discover who we really are, then go on. Keeping a tight grip on the reigns of course.
I will share this quote at AA, although the basis of AA is about a deep swing in attidude. Then again, that \'swing\' is out of our hands.
I enjoy the quotes, they make me think beyond the daily grind.
