Affirmation for August 5, 2010: A Legacy of Kindness

A good character is the best tombstone.  Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered.  Carve your name on hearts, not on marble.- Charles H. SpurgeonThought of the day:Shakespeare believed that words could immortalize someone, because words can carry on into eternity. For example, how many high schools today still introduce students to literature with his poetry? On the other hand, what would Shakespeare have to say about a legacy of kindness? When you help someone, it may not be sung on the tops of mountains and canonized in English literature, but to that person, what you've done for them will be remembered with a tenderness that no other book or famous work can possibly compete for. The difference between a legacy and a legacy of kindness is that instead of simply being remembered, you will be remembered and loved. This affirmation is dedicated especially to all who care for others, and who are building a legacy of kindness with every day.Have a helpful day!TeamDS

Like this saying. I think it is true that we carve our names in the hearts of the ones that we love. I lost my brother a year and half ago and have found it very hard to deal with. The thing that I have turned to is alcohol. I think I have turned into an alcholic.
