Affirmation for August 24, 2012: The Fragrance of Forgiveness
Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.Mark Twain
Thought of the Day:
Guilt and remorse change the way we look towards individuals. We feel the sting of regret when we realize we'd failed the friendship we built with a special someone. It seems like that inevitable sour sting will be there for a while.
It isn't until we ask for and eventually receive forgiveness do our friendships seems to grow. We learn the strength and flexibility of our friendships - making it through the hard times and growing beyond them together. It truly is a sweet smell: forgiveness.

These words of Mark Twain repeat in my head as I do realize yes, the frangrance of the flower lingers even as we crush it beneath our heel. Feelings go on even though people hurt or offend us or we hurt and offend them. Love goes on.
