I had \"perfection is an expensive brand of mediocrity\" as a signature line for a long time.
It seems to me that perfection can only be attained by selecting closed fields of endeavor. That\'s what I don\'t like about bowling - the fact that a perfect score is possible. Only theoretical in my case, I\'m happy if I break 100. With bumpers. But I\'m not motivated to strive heroically, because there is no way to go past 300. Oh, well. Throwing something heavy and knocking things down is fun.
i have avoided most of my life because i couldn\'t do it perfectly. i am taking this quote and running with it.
