Affirmation for August 12, 2011: All You Need is Love
Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within. - James A. Baldwin
Some days we feel pressured to smile, put on a personality that others enjoy and hide behind a facade that reflects a personality that is not true to who we really are. But then, the day ends, we go home to our family, our spouses, or our friends and our true selves come out from behind the facade.
What is this feeling of security? It seems, according to Baldwin, this feeling is inspired by love. Those who accept us for who we are unconditionally allows us to feel free, dance crazy, smile when things are funny to us, and not smile when they aren't. When they day is over or time are challenging, take off that mask and surround yourself with love. :)
