Affirmation for April 6, 2011: Arguing With Loved Ones
Anger ventilated often hurries toward forgiveness; and concealed often hardens into revenge.- Edward G. Bulwer-LyttonThought of the day:Arguing with a loved one is often an inevitable occurrence, since we are creatures of emotion and opinion. But it's something that we can learn to do well, and not just to gain the upper hand. By becoming familiar with the way the other thinks, and understanding the other side's point of view, even when emotion hits, we can practice staying tempered and calm. Everyone is different, so while it may be unpleasant, we should treat arguments and heated discussions as learning experiences every time. The goal is to be able to get over the uncomfortable tension, and bask together again in the peace of complete resolution.Have a smooth day!TeamDS
