Affirmation for April 21, 2010: Joseph Farrell

If you go in for argument, take care of your temper. Your logic, if you have any, will take care of itself.
- Joseph Farrell
Thought of the day:
Temper, temper. If everyone who had differing opinions would just keep their emotions in check, every argument, every yelling match, perhaps even wars, would just be discussions. But we are humans, and we do lose our tempers.
It's often hard to detect, but if ever you are in a quarrel with someone, especially a loved one, and you feel that heat of emotion rise to your cheeks, instead of letting it loose and yelling it out, take a moment. Keep your lips sealed. Force that anger into your brain where it can be processed, rationalized. Let empathy kick in and let good sense, another human trait, keep things in perspective.
Your relationships will be the better for it, and so will your own peace of mind.
Have a serene day!

Dear Team DS:

Yes not everyone share the same opinion but what if u c someone ridiculing u for doing something that they are doing themselves? A lot of ppl do not like 2 hear the truth. So, do u ignore what the hypocrite is doing and continue 2 b friends with them? Or do u confront them about their hypocricy?

I learn more from those who are critical of me than everyone who is supportive. I just have to step back and cooly evaluate whether their words are true and be humble enough to grow if they are. Hugs, sara

Who has time to be critical when their husband\'s body is failing with diabetes, they are about to lose the house with him out of work, and they have no health insurance?
