Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don't recognize them.- Ann LandersThought of the day:Striving to be the best often means breaking away from the majority, which is hard to do. The reason why there is only room for a few at the top is only that few can endure what it takes to get there. Seth Godin writes a book called "The Dip," which talks about challenges, and which ones to endure through and which ones to quit. The general idea is that with everything -- businesses, relationships, sports, goals, etc. -- there is an initial rush of progress when you start something new. But then, "the dip" happens, and that rush disappears because you're not progressing as quickly. Most people see their progress slow, and then finally stop. Only the few who really strive pass the challenge of "the dip" surpass everyone else and become "the Superstar."Hard work really pays off with the right direction. Have an enlightened day!TeamDS

Thank you for this. Wow - great timing! Feeling \"the dip\" right now myself - after experiencing the rush.
Although I\'ve experienced a recent let down, however, i refuse to give up no matter how unpopular my mission is. That\'s what I keep trying to tell myself, anyway.
Last night, after months of preparation, my husband and i were ready to present the best program, that we could possibly imagine, to middle school parents and children about alcohol and other drug abuse awareness and prevention, we experience major technical difficulties. But it wasn\'t just about the computer problems - but more about proving to the school district big guys that parents need more than what they\'re offering. Although I had the most important person supporting me (the middle school principal) I don\'t really have it from the Superintendent or high school principal. It doesn\'t make sense to me because I believe I\'m doing a good thing. After all we had an enormous turnout at the middle school. The last turnout the high school had a few weeks ago - 12 parents showed up.
Although it hasn\'t been easy - what keeps me going are the parents and kids that need this information. We get calls of thanks and help from the ones who count.
After feeling a bit down - this \"Thought of the day\" couldn\'t have come at a more perfect time.
