Adjusting and readjusting

So I got discharged on the 21st August after 8 long months of hard recovery work!  I moved back home for a while, it was ok, the thing I found hardest was surprisingly not anything to do with eating enough, it was trying to cope without using ed mechanisms. Sometimes I got so stressed out I just had to scream, I tryed doing this into a pillow, but it was still so loud it once made my mum who was outside the house come in and ask me if I was ok. I adjusted and learnt to cope much better and stay calm, I started talking more, writting down my feelings, and stopping my irrational thinking from spiralling by just recognising the signs. Just as quick as I had adjusted to home life I was back off to live with my friends at university again. This was the real challenge. My friends have such crazy eating habits, and whilst they are aware I was ill, they even came to visit me, they still don't seem to get it. They think because I am back and a heathier (but not ideal) weight then it must be all peachy again. I don't expect anyone to be treading on eggshells around me, but sometimes they are just so ignorant, making comments about me eating loads, it's so irritating! I am in a place where I can deal with it, but all it takes is one bad day and a comment like that could floor me.  Despite this the experience has generally made me stronger. I have to be ok with so many things here that I never would have faced at home, like chip shop teas and roast dinners cooked by other. I just wish sometimes they would realise how amazing it is that I face these things and come out smiling! But I don't expect them to understand this, I wouldn't want them to because that would mean they had experienced the nightmare that is anorexia.
