Addiction Ave

The road I'm on is paved with pills
The signs say addiction ave
I have lived here my entire life
It truly is so sad
There are no turn off's
No exit signs are the only signs I see
I feel that now I have gone down it so far
I can never leave
It feels like home and yet I feel alone
Walking around this street
Broken glass and skeletons of old residents lie beneath my feet
They break and cut me hurt me deeply as I tread my lonely path
But I go on searching for something that I fear I already passed
Just one turn off is all I need and never shall I return
For addiction ave is a horrid place no one should ever be
And deep inside all I urn for is for some normalcy
And if I continue down this path the only exit is a box
I need to fight my demons before all hope is lost
If I can break through the barriers there is no path I can not walk
I refuse to be a resident of addiction ave anymore
I refuse to sit and mope and hurt myself forevermore
I will reach my goals fulfill my destiny and be happy now once more
And if you find yourself on addiction ave take this advice be forwarned
You can fight right through it be strong and just believe
In yourself and in your power to dream and then achieve
there are people waiting for you
