Addiction
I truly do no think CPS workers understand how terrible addiction is, and how addicts hide from their families due to shame and using. These case workers need MORE training and to attend more classes. Then perhpas a light bulb would come on. I have searched for one of my own for days, for years, messaged until I was so frustrated I cried with no reply. I worried if they were dead or alive, but somehow these CPS workers think I am lying or at least that is what my attorney thinks. So untrue...

I believe you are right, Gran. These days I believe the courts are harder on people who are not lawfully medicated than they are on the folks who use non-approved medication.
And then there is the fact that my 41 year old crackhead is not under CPS jurisdiction. Not under my jurisdiction, either, however much my mother's heart still cries. He has told me he would use "medication" if he could afford the prices. "Drugs" are considerably cheaper.
