Addendem to Monday
My daughter called tonight. Her Pastor spent about 3 hours with the family today. He read scriptures and prayed with my Ex. The Dr. also went in with my 2 kids and told their mom that there is no hope, that the only thing keeping her alive are the machines she is hooked to. She told the kids she was afraid and got tears in her eyes. Unless things change the 28th will be the day that my kids must make the hardest decision of their lives.
I feel terrible for them but, as their mom's ex husband, I have really little or no sayso in anything which I understand and accept. I just feel so bad for my kids sake. My daughter never told me whether her mom said yes or no to my request so, I guess I am to assume, she doesn't want to see me. I never dreamed I would have to face something like this so soon and so close to the anniversary of our son's death, the 6th of July. This is so sad for me because she was my first and only girlfriend all through high school. I spent from 1958 to 1972 with this young lady and even though she never really loved me, I have memories of our first kiss, our wedding, the birth of our kids, our first home.
These were the good memories. These are the ones I choose to remember when I think of her. Stupid me I guess but, it's so hard to see someone die like this even if her treatment of me was terrible in the latter years of our 10 year marriage. When we divorced, she was 25, I was 28.
It seems like yesterday in some ways and in others, it seems like a hundred years ago.
I have asked to see her twice, I will not ask again. My kids told me they are willing to let her go. I must do the same. I guess if I didn't care for people, it wouldn't matter but, I do care. I have spent the last half of my life, caring for and caring about others and, odd as it may seem, I never did anything to cause my ex problems, never treated her bad, I just stayed out of her way and in the background and in the shadows of what once was.

I am sorry to hear of what you are going thru and my prayers are with you and your family. Alicia my daughter and I are very busy packing her for leave tonight to visit a dying friend of brain tumors in KY. Alicia will fly into Nashville TN and hopefully get a ride from a friend to KY. She took a pocket Bible and wants to witness to Raven. God be with you thru all your trials.

My heart goes out to you and your family. What a difficult decission for your kids. I willl ask God for wisdom for them and all involved, peace and mercy for all.
Pee Wee go on and visit her. When you are there if she don\'t want to see you she will say so. This may releive her knowing you are caring for the kids. Plus from a womans point of view , you might of not had the lasting kind of love but there is a certain kind of love when a man and woman have a child together. I know this hurts and at this time to. I am praying for your family, the devil is seeking very strongly these last few days. All our love and prayers~~~Debbie
I understand your hesitancy in visiting your ex under the circumstance but what is most important is that your kids know you are willing to go. I hope she has forgiven you for whatever she holds against you and that she leaves here with that peace only God allows. I pray your family will endure and hold together at this time. In Christ, Dale....Brandon\'s Mom
Yes, be there however you can for the kids. I know you will. They are the ones who will need you the most. And if your ex should change her mind at the last minute, you will be there to grant her last wish and to maybe give you relief from your trials. This is just my thoughts. Godspeed. Truly your friend, BarbaraWawa
Hi, we don\'t know each other but I am a friend of starbright. I read your journals and the first thing that came to mind was for you to go see her. I think you may have regrets if you don\'t go. For her to see you there will break the hurt or unforgiveness she may be harboring in her heart and bring healing before she goes home. I want you to know that i love the Lord with all my heart and if I was in this situation and the rolls reversed I would go. My prayers are with you and your children and ex-wife. God Bless!
