Add a call to action at the end of your copy

Today, smartphone usage is so huge that more searches are done on smartphones than on computers. Making sure your website is mobile friendly is massively important. Standard results, however, are certainly not all that the search engines have to offer. For many types of queries, search engines show vertical results, or instant answers, and include more than just links to other sites to help answer a user’s questions Link signals tend to decay over time. Sites that were once popular often go stale, and eventually fail to earn new links. A company may be able to identify thousands of keywords worth optimizing—but do they have a big enough SEO budget to handle that workload? Marketers rely on search engineoptimization (SEO) to improve search rankings, website traffic and lead generation.

If your business is local, your SEO potential just got a bit sweeter. You probably notice that when you search for a local business (like “bakery in Hull City Centre”), the top two or three results are Google My Business and Yelp listings, proving that local review and business directory sites are becoming another way to rank higher in search engine results.

Learn which industry ranking factors are important to your business and how to improve your online rankings. Great content never sleeps, never needs a lunch break and is adored by search engines and customers alike. Positive reviews are an important local SEO ranking factor that improves your business visibility on Google. Blog comments are a great way to promote content, diversify anchor text and build out a natural link profile. There are literally hundreds of factors that contribute to your final rankings. On top of that, it can be hard to determine what kinds of trends Google may associate with your chosen keywords.

Asking your suppliers to provide a link to your site, using local chambers of commerce and guest posting on industry relevant blogs are all strategies that we’d recommend if you’re looking to gain more backlinks for your business.

Headings give your web page structure and help search engines better determine what your page content is about. Search engine optimization affects only organic search results, not paid or "sponsored" results such as Google AdWords. Mobile search is outshining desktop search. Make sure your website is mobile-friendly so users can easily navigate your site from their phone, especially if you are small, local business. There are many reasons why SEO is an important part of your marketing strategy. The quality of the content is vastly important to SEO. How well-written is it? Is it riddled with spelling and grammatical errors or is it error-free? Unique content signifies quality.

Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant from SEO Hull, commented: "Google and other search engines keep the inner workings of their algorithms a secret. All we can do is speculate and test. The problem with speculation is that if an idea seems believable, it becomes eagerly accepted as truth without the data to back up the speculation." Do your maths - its one of the primary resources for this sort of thing.Less than 10% of the users in the most active internet countries have broadband. The faster your website loads, the better rank your site will have on Google and other major search engines. Local hosting will also typically help reduce page load speeds, so this is another benefit of setting up local servers. SEO results are only keenly felt long-term, and therefore it can be difficult for small business owners to see the value in taking time out of their day to write about their industry. Do follow links are defined as links, passing link juice to achieve a better page rank in search engines as it tells the search engine spiders to follow the particular link. These follow links are links that counts as ‘votes’, forcing SEO link juice and increasing the page rank of the linked to sites. Google and Bing have moved far beyond algorithms that positively reward a keyword appearing multiple times in the URL string. Don’t hurt your chances of earning a click (which CAN impact your rankings) by overdoing keyword matching/repetition in your URLs.

Focus on producing content that is relevant and engaging

SEO, that is ethical and organic, takes serious time. Anyone that claims otherwise is just looking to take your money and run. User-generated content (UGC) sites and communities are two of my favourite places to find untapped keywords. Google has stated that meta descriptions are NOT a ranking signal. But, the quality of the description will influence click-through rate, so it is very important to use this element wisely… Outliers are the actual reason why we study average and median numbers separately. Quite a few pages rank for an enormous amount of keywords, which drives the “average” numbers up. Backlinks are one of the most important factor of off page optimisation to rank your website on SERPs. There are many backlinks, and all are not important. Considering which backlinks are important and which links should be directed to your website, understanding no follow and do follow links is essential.

Add a call to action at the end

If you are new in the business then remember that the big guns are already optimizing for the most popular keywords and you don’t stand a chance for those keywords. Hence, choose keywords that have a good search volume but, are still not that popular. Use them 2-3 times for every 100 words in your content. Many webmasters see Panda as a type of Google penalty—but it's not, really. Panda is a collection of measurements Google is taking of your web pages to try and give your pages a rating on how happy users are likely to be with those pages. Canonical Tags are intended to prevent duplication of content, but make sure you have a canonical URL for your filter pages rather than accidentally telling search engines they’re duplicate pages. Back Links go hand in hand with Link Building and act as advertisements for your website on other websites, rather than the links on your own website, which give more traffic to other websites. Relevance versus authority: these two metrics are always at the forefront of a link builder’s mind.
