Actually losing weight
My husband was served with divorce papers on Jan. 27. Haven't heard from him. We'll see what happens. Attitude shift in the weight loss department. On Tues. night I watched "The Biggest Loser" and saw people who didn't work very hard, didn't lose much weight, and made excuses and claimed they tried hard. I don't want to behave that way. On Wed. morning (yesterday), toward the end of yoga class, the teacher spontaneously said: You know, you don't see people who do yoga 3-4 times per week who are overweight. The daily practice of yoga is an outlet for physical energy and a calming activity that reduces stress hormones that normally cause people to eat and gain weight. It clicked with me. Today I had no problem waking up early. I did yoga on my own for the first time in a looong time. 7:30 am: 15 min. yoga - held triangle pose for 1 min. each side9 am: two boiled eggs and yogurt (310 cal)10:30 am: basil tea10:45 am: struggling with hunger11:15 am: gave self permission to eat at 11:3011:30 am: Lean Cuisine with protein (330 cal)12:45 pm: took a short walk around the building2:15 pm: Lean Cuisine pizza (340 cal) 4:15 pm: a big orange! Total calories: 1760 The people on the Biggest Loser lose a half-pound a day when they go "home" and work hard. I can lose a half-pound a day too. I'm doing it now. Tomorrow I bet I will weigh in at 177 lbs even.
