Accomplishment

Car stalled on way to work Friday which was ok, not the end of the world, only missed an hour of work.  The graduation ceremony for the students in my first math class Summer '08 was that night.  It was moved to an auditorium closer to home, which turned out perfect since I needed to go and was able to get there - if it was further it would have been a huge hassle. I ended up seeing those students from my first class, and we all started together - it was their first class at the college, and I helped them. They ALL graduated which is amazing.  I cried hat night.  I was invested in them, their passing, their education.  All the trials we went through together!  I quit that job almost a year ago.  I'd moved into the computer lab where I helped them with English, math and general computer stuff.   I was bonded to them - later classes would not be the same - I got jaded after seeing what's up at that school with the corruption.  After they graduated a peace washed over me, like God telling me it was ok, I was done, I'd done what I was supposed to.  Quitting a job as a college instructor to go back to receptionist work!  The stress and corruption & BS were not being handled well by me.  But I helped those kids.  I cared and taught them more than math, about attitude and learning in general, it was such a challenge for all of us and WE MADE IT.
