Absolutes

I find myself monitoring for absolute thoughts this morning. Always, Never, and Ever seem to be my own most used absolutes.

*They/he/she/it/we/you/I will always. . .

*They/he/she/it/we/you/I will never. . .

*If they/he/she/it/we/you/I ever, I will. . .

I am taking them as nag flags that I have passed judgement and have closed myself off from other possibilities. Ply healing hopes here.

The Whatchamacallit for my mother was yesterday. The rag-tag assortment of family members was around the same size as the other family gatherings in the park, but only a sliver of my own family tree. A small sliver, at that. Not even half of my siblings were there, much less the sons, daughters, grand-kids, etc. Our brother's and mother's deaths werenae ever mentioned near my ears, but . . . I was triggering and pinging from never to always to ever to, to,. . . like an antique pinball machine. If only there were scorekeeping displays to give clear indication of how the event was going. Crossing elephants and rhinosauri again. Elephino. Whatever the evers of the occassion, it is done now.

Meanwhile the co-dependant crack drama in Texas continues. SO has officially cancelled her trip up here. I am grateful that I no longer need to factor her possible arrival into the chaos here on the Eastern Seaboard. His wife's family is cycling through their own dysfunction dramas. YS and I are talking about the stream of texts coming out of Texas, but agreed that ^it^ is a good thing for us to stay out of while we show his wife and children some of the local wonders. This is his wife's second time outside the state of Texas. The children (1 and 3) are too young to remember much of this trip, but not to young to begin opening their minds to the wonders of the world.

First things first.

That great quote from the serenity prayer comes to mind when wondering about absolutes for me, arf, since one of those absolute constants seems to be change and how I have to surf its daily waves somehow. I recall that line "serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Glad one of the changes you have going on is that SO isn't coming so there's one less factor in the mix for you.

Along with mujicaptsd, here is one from Alanon:

I didn't Cause It
I can't Control it
I can't Cure it....

Those "It's" sound like the text dramas which I'm glad to read, for your sake, you are staying Far Away From~
Healing prayers and strength to you and those you love...ml
