Abrasive Wheels Training

Abrasive Wheels Training is a formal legal requirement for anyone who uses this equipment and can affect both health & safety, as well as cost and productivity. The course identifies the risks associated with working with abrasive wheels and raises awareness of the steps that can be taken to minimise these risks.

The first topic identifies the different types of abrasive wheels and how they are used, along with any specific safety precautions that need to be followed. It also explains how to correctly store the different wheels and the importance of maintaining the correct abrasive wheel for the equipment being used.

Topic 2 introduces the legal requirements under PUWER and how these relate to working with abrasive wheels in particular. This includes the need for the appropriate PPE to be worn, how to identify possible hazards and prevent them, how to select and use the correct abrasive wheels for the job in hand and how to carry out daily inspections of the equipment.

In nearly half of all accidents involving abrasive wheels, the human element comes into play with unsafe working practices and operator error. It is therefore important that all delegates who work with these tools take the necessary steps to follow strict health and safety practices to reduce the risk of injury and death. This online course helps to achieve this by raising awareness of the dangers associated with abrasive wheels and outlining the control measures that can be put in place to minimise the risk.Abrasive Wheels Training
