ABOUT THE SAME

HI JOURNAL,
I'VE COME TO TALK WITH YOU AGAIN.
IT  IS THREE YEAR SINCE I UNDERWENT DBS.
I WAS AT THE CLINIC EARLIER THIS WEEK,
 FOR TESTS AND CHECKS ETC.

ALL THE PHYSICAL TESTS,
 WERE DONE TWICE, AND VIDEOD.
UNMEDICATED AND WITH MY DBS,
STIMULATOR SWITCHED EITHER  ON OR OFF,
DEPENDING ON  ON THE TASK  TO BE PERFORMED.
AT TIMES I WAS RUNING ON EMPTY,  AS IT WERE.

AS LUNCH TIME APPROACHED,
SO DID THE END OF THE COGNATIVE  T ESTING,
WITH THAT BEING THE END OF,
 THE ASSESSMENT PROGRAM.

IN SUMERISING,
THE TESTING  ETC INDICATED THAT,
I AM ABOUT THE SAME AS LAST YEAR.
SO I FEEL I'M DOING OK,  EVEN BETTER,
I CAN FEEL GOOD ABOUT THAT.

I DO HAVE ISSUES WITH MY SPEECH,
IT IS BECOMING MONOTONE AND LOW IN VOLUME.
I DO HAVE ISSUES  WITH MY HANDWRITNG.
 FOR MY SPEECH,
THE SILVERMAN SPEECH THERAPY PROGRAM,
 WILL NEED TO BE REVISITED.
FOR MY HANDWRITING,
I PRACTISE THIS ON A DAILY BASIS,
ALAS, WITH LITTLE IMPROVEMENT.
I AM AT A LOSS,
AS TO HOW TO ARREST THIS DETERIOATION.
ANYWAY,  ON A POSITIVE NOTE,
I CAN SAY, 'YOU WIN SOME,
YOU LOOSE SOME'.
SUCH IS LIFE.
YEP,  AND SUCH IS LIFE WITH,
THIS BLOODY CONDITION WE CALL PARKINSON'S.
YET WE DO NOT GIVE IN,
I AM FLEXIBLE  I CAN ADAPT.
WE  JUST GO TO HELL  AND  REGROUP,
THEN  FIGURE OUT NEW WAYS  TO DO THINGS.

Steuart, deterioration sucks. How we deal with wworsening symptoms is the key to living right. One of my go to sources for keping a possitive outlook on life is my down under motivational leader ,,,you. when life gives you lemmons make lemonade. stay well my friend. alex

Stewart,

Being roughly in the same position as last year is fantastic - that means you are halting a progressive disease! With those results I would want a fan fare in the waiting room outside. Brilliant news, I think you deserve a bit more than a \'feel good\' that\'s cause for a real celebration.

As for your other two points which have declined I know you will do your upmost to maintain them, I\'ve heard singing and breathing exercises are both good too as they build on projection and strengthen the diaphragm, you of course will already know that - I\'m with Alex here of course, you are my motivational leader, my mentor and I am very fortunate to say .... my friend.

I would wish you the best of luck but that is probably wrong, you don\'t win results you earn them, (I\'m learning) so I would think there is an obvious exercise in dexterity aimed at PD for you! Keep it up Stewart you are an inspiration.

Take care

Julie
