About my doctor
I had just found out that I have RA and need to take some more pills to help control the pain. Then one top of it they want me to take some more prednisone but only 3mg every day for a couple of weeks then start getting off them. Then after three months if the pills are not working then I need to start doing injections/shots. I just hope the pills will work because there are not a lot of side affects with them. Just need to get blood work done every few months for my white blood cells and my kidneys too. The shots have so much more side affects if I have to start them.

I\'m sorry to hear about your RA diagnosis. I was diagnosed with severe RA 6 1/2 years ago. Started on pills, then added injections. I\'m glad to say that I am in remission, no joint damage, and off all meds for RA (prednisone for sporadic flares). The side effects are really minimal, it is the POSSIBLE side effects that can be so scary. Take it one step at a time. The medical community has pretty much figured out that early intervention with the stronger meds has the best hope for a longterm positive outcome. That is good news for us! Used to, RA was crippling...end of story. Now we have meds that can interrupt the crippling aspect. Good luck as you navigate this first difficult year! You can do it!
Ya I among the pills but my doctor want to have me do the injection but I told him give me one months before I go that way. I just was hoping that the pills would have helped me out because he said the injections are worse for u. I really want to stop taking pills because I take so many right know and I hate it.
