A year and a half
I lit a candle for Lisa when I got up this morning and it will burn til I go to bed tonight.
Our beautiful, funny, talented and caring daughter was pronounced dead 18 months ago today. I still get a sick feeling when I think about that horrible day - actually week.
It has been an emotional year and a half and the roller coaster is still rolling. One day or minute up, then next down. And I don't know whether I am coming or going most of the time.
But I am working on getting fit. We walked about 5 - 7 miles this morning. Joe and I are getting ready to do our pilgrimage in Northern Spain in September. It gives us a goal and I am hoping we will have some peace of mind. I know Lisa would be proud of us as she was when we decided to go and teach English in other countries after we retired.
So for the rest of the day, I will try to remember the good times. But I miss her so much it hurts.
I love you forever Lisa.

Absolutely Lisa would be proud of you and Joe doing the pilgrimage in Northern Spain. Good Luck and I\'m looking forward to all the interesting journals that you will write when you do it. Love and prayers.. Terry
Marlene, I am impressed with all those miles. Tight hugs as you remember and honor your girl. Love, Linda
We passed the 18 month mark in January and it was especially hard for some reason. I even posted a discussion on the FMO board about 18 months and many Moms seem to agree that it is a rough one. But I\'m hearing that the third year (after the second anniversary) might bring some relief...I\'m with you and sending lots of tight hugs.
xoxo Debbie
The weeks and months are hards...and the time in the hospitals...never can forget...Just keep wishing Ken could be here as your Lisa...Hope your tour in Spain is a great adventure ....I am sorry that you feel such pain. Sandi
I can feel your longing for your precious daughter, Lisa. I think having goals is a beneficial thing and it sounds as if it is for you. That is a lot of walking and I\'m sure you will be fit and ready to go... it sounds amazing. Trying to remember the beautiful moments is so vital for our healing, isn\'t it? Hoping the rest of your week was gentle on your being. Love and hugs, Joanie
The roller coaster will one day level off. Until then, you hang on and some days, it\'s for dear life. I\'m glad you are setting goals. That\'s what gets us healing, setting achievable goals and it feels so good to accomplish them. Love to you. Robin
