a woohoo moment!

I survived my first Christmas party in the class with 28 little 1st graders. I am thrilled to announce that with all the junk food around I did not have any sugary desserts, cand, or cookies. The best part was I had 1 small slice of pizza and I couldn't finish it. Mentally I thought I should but I didn't it.  I guess the best candy I tasted was the look of pure fun on the students' faces when they opened up their packages of coloring book and crayons I bought them. Many of the students will not receive a gift other than the one Igave.  The students' had a great day with food, music, gifts, and the Muppet Christmas Carol.  I believe it is moments like this that inspired me to  achieve my teaching credentials.  I cannot believe how happy I am being in the class with these little ones.  As for me on an adult level, on THirsday night I attended a Christmas party with adults at a Mexican restuarant. IT was a buffet. I deliberately used a small salad plate and focused on eating small bites of food and putting my fork down between bites. I am please with te fact that I have had time to listen to my body and register when I am full, Not a "fool:. HAHA.   I guess the best news so far is that I have lost some more. I try not to weight fanatically. My husband reads the scale and he doesn't allow me to look until we get the same reading three times.  This makes it fun and we share my moment of disbelief together.  so now I am down approx. 86 pounds since August 25th. Now here is to two weeks off and staying motivated and on schedule with my normal eating routine.
