A Wonderful Surprise Today
I had a wonderful surprise today. I was at the car wash cleaning my car when my cell phone rang. It was a lady in my church telling me that she and her husband had a surprise for me and wanted to know if I could meet them at the church. I told them yes and, she said they had a surprise for me and wanted me to get it before Sunday.
I went to the church bldg. we are using and played the piano till they arrived. She came in, gave me and hug and accompanied me outside. In the back of their pickup was a beautiful, solid oak pulpit, that her husband had made himself. It has 2 doors on it and also a gliding drawer. It is beautiful!!!!!! We carried it in the church and he said, I wanted you to have it for Sunday. WoW!!!!! What a surprise.
This man is a man I led to the Lord last year. His wife was an alcoholic when I met her and she is stone sober now for over a year. They are as faithful at my church as any new members would be. They are a blessing to everyone around them. She says I am the reason she is sober and I preached his mother's funeral a few months ago. I was with her and them, when she died. She was so glad I had led her son to the Lord and every time we talked about it, she would get tears in her eyes and thank me.
God is good folks, in spite of all the other junk, trials and tribulations we have in life. It is blessings like this pulpit and this couple, that makes being a Pastor, worth while and so rewarding.
