A Week of Doing Nothing
Friday, December 12, 2008 – 6:40 P.M. I would just as soon forget about the past week. Ever since learning about my UTI, and the e.coli bacteria that caused it, I have been confined to home. After informing my physical therapy clinic about this, my therapist decided that I should not return for more therapy until after I see my doctor. I did not know how contagious this could be, so I canceled my appointment to see my psychologist. I am hopeful of seeing her coming Wednesday. Until today, the rest of the week was spent resting, sleeping, reading, and watching videos. No one can accuse me of wearing myself out. This morning, I did manage to go see my social worker at the mental health clinic. It seems as though the state is doing a survey of some kind, and I was one of the "lucky ones" that was chosen to take part in it. That meant that my social worker needed to see me in order for him to fill out the forms that were needed. While I was there, he informed me that he wanted to work with my brother and me for at least six months, and possibly have a few sessions including my sister. After that is worked out, he will need to see me anywhere from six months to a year or more in order to work on my depression.
