A weak moment
I know I sound pretty pathetic, sometimes, but I do need to take ownership in this and let go more. These are his decisions - if he doesn't do the work, he is the one who is going to fail. I don't have to remind him. And I also know that he is manipulating me and turning things around so that he has an excuse to do as he pleases. I intend to call his probation officer and report that my son is not following "my" rules. Husband is of no support. He wasn't around when T didn't come home when he was supposed to after school last week and went to his friend's home without the mom there. The mom had already lit into our son about it before. I called the mom and told her that my son was at her house and that I saw an on-line conversation that her son is smoking pot. I believe he was high when I called - he sounded out of it. T was then supposed to be grounded Friday night but he went out anyway. Husband thought I was being too strict about not letting him go out on a Friday night. It didn't matter. The consequence? Not allowed out Saturday and then he leaves anyway. Despite the fact he does these things - he always seems very sober when he returns home, which amazes me. If he is, and I believe he is, I just can't imagine how he stays that way considering who he's been "chilling" with, lately. Feeling a bit better about the situation, however. I've been repeating the Serenity Prayer over and over again and it has helped.
