A want not a need--moral delimna
OK, I have wanted one of those new tablets so I can be in the living room with Mom and if she wants to know anything on the internet, I can look it up then and there and not have to turn on the huge old computer. Later this year I want to be able to take it along with me to a very boring work day at the election. That is my want. I have the router but not hooked up yet. Since the lowest price one is $50, I have been walking by it and checking it out when I can.
But the need is not there for the tablet. I need to get my eyes tested because I am going to have to get a new drivers license which is going to cost $30. We are going to have the rust spots fixed on the car next week at a cost of bout $300. Today we got back the rebuilt lawn mower--almost $300. Mom's car has been scratched so those will have to be fixed. None of this is on insurance except my eye exam which will cost me $30.
We had so much car trouble last year, I put off the eye exam and possible new glasses. I don't think I need them anymore because I can see very well without them.
My moral issue is my want and not my need. Do I use my gift card and cash in another one or two to get the tablet or do I wait and see what happens next? Do I give in to my want and get something I don't need but will enjoy if I do get it?
I'm stuck in the land of 3s!!!

the gift cards could expire if not used by date....be careful with those...read fine print....hugs problem at the election is no Internet for the tablet....unless you have a wireless system for it...I use my Iphone everywhere....and can connect computer or tablet *which I do not own) to it....and get internet thru wifi hot spot....
wow. those are all good ideas and come with restrictions and decisions that can work were all of us 100% certain of these kinds of situations....bilwfriend is correct, I think; gift cards do expire...good to check after reading all the limits. I\'ve also heard of websites where people exchange, barter, \"whatever\" for gift cards....some offering monetary values instead. I know of Craig\'s list but have never used it.
Stay away from Net Zero unless you are a electronics\' genius. I\'ve been fighting them since 2/01/16 along with my Bank\'s help. They\'re liars and cheats. Good luck finding someone to say something good about them.
You\'re smart to take your time, but again, as bilwfriend said: be careful with expiration dates, etc., on your gift cards.
Take care. Good hunting on your searches and decision making.
I asked at walmart about the gift card and was told it was good till I used it up. Not sure how much I still have on it but about $40, I think. I was thinking of redeeming another one for 37 dollars. Another one has 63 dollars on it. This would buy a more expensive tablet. But I\'m still thinking.
I ask myself all the time, this year was it a new pair of sandals, I love sandals, but I have about 5 pair. So no. But having a gift card I would love to buy a tablet. I have a laptop, but the screen has been damaged, therefore I hook it up to a bigger monitor. I have wireless but have yet to hook it up to the big screen TV, I should . Sometimes I hate sitting in this chair, but I just open the open & listen to the birds! If it will make your life easier & make you happy go for it!
I\'m leaning toward getting one.
