A visit
I just have to share this. I lit some candles, including the two that were in the candle sticks similar to the ones Lisa liked - the ones I bought her for Christmas in 2009. She never got to open them.
Anyway, Joe and I were sitting with the tree lights on and the candles burning, watching The Great Gatsby when we heard a tremendous crack. We went to see what it was and had a bit of trouble finding the problem. It turns out that one of the candlesticks broke and part of it was on the floor. It is a heavy glass candle stick. Why do I believe it was Lisa? The broken piece flew past the little urn that contains some of her ashes, without touching it. I think she was telling me that things are only things. I was not upset that the candlestick broke. I was glad she was here but it made me cry because I could not hug her. Actually, I have been crying most of the day. I miss her so much today.
I have been very upbeat and dare I say, happy. But today, I just remember the times we spent together getting ready for Chrismas, stuffing the turkey and stealing the crispy bits of skin when we were carving it. It sounds gross but we love it. We always had our dinner on Christmas Eve so we could relax and enjoy Christmas day.
Lisa: I know you were here. You do manage to get my attention! You know that I don't always respond to subtle! I long to give you a hug. Merry Christmas - I hope you are having a blast with the family and the kids of FMO. I miss you always and love you forever. Mummy

Peace to your heart dearest Marlene and that Lisa... She knew you would not MISS that one.
Yes, only things and the relationships and LOVE is all that matters and that is something you will forever hold in your heart.
May today BE as gentle as possible dear one and I too love the crispy bits of skin of the turkey and always \"snitch\" them when I can.
Much love and a blessed Christmas,
XO Joanie

It\'s hard to be happy on the holidays when we think of what could have been. It\'s only normal and knowing we aren\'t alone will help us through it. xoxoxo Connie
So grateful for Lisa\'s presence, although not there to hug, definitely there!
Sending love your way,
Leda
Hugging you, Marlene!
I liked how you phrased that, \"You know that I don\'t always respond well with subtle!\" So sweetly said--it sounds to me, also, that Lisa was getting your attention--too odd, that it would break-- being thick glass!
They are with us, this is sure! I hope that now the holidays are just about over, we can all get back to our usual selves! Love, Donna
Marlene, isn\'t it neat how our kids show up? It is good to know they are close by. Love to you and Lisa, Linda
Wow...she was definitely trying to get your attention haha. I am so sorry it was a tearful day...but...it is what it is...and if we feel like we need to cry...than we do. Love to you...
Hello Lisa!
Love to both of you!
