A Very Weird Thing Happened on July 5, 2009

I have to share this very weird thing that happened last evening...Tom and I got back from Deep Creek around 2:30 Sunday afternoon. We had a great time with my long-time friends, Jill & Gary, and the four of us hooked up with my longest friend Babs and her husband, Jerry, for brunch before we flew home which made the weekend extra nice.Anyway, around 6:30 Sunday evening we were getting hungry and Tom said he wanted Chinese food, so we headed into Westminster to our favorite Chinese restaurant. We were seated and placed our order. The waiter had brought out our soup and those little chips when all of a sudden, I didn't feel sick, but I simply DID NOT feel like eating. I just felt like blah...I didn't have any appetite at all. Tom asked if I was ok or if I wanted to leave and I said no, but I just didn't feel like I wanted to put anything in my mouth...like if I did, it would be like eating dust. When the waiter brought our dinners, Tom asked again if I wanted to have them pack it up to go, but I said I was ok. As he ate, I sat across from him and tried to get in touch with the feelings I was having. They weren't altogether unpleasant, but I definitely didn't feel "normal."When Tom had finished as much as he wanted, he asked our waiter to pack the rest of everything to take home. That done, we got up and went to the cash register (which is right by the door). The MINUTE we got over there, the entry door from the sidewalk opened and GUESS WHO CAME WALKING IN?SAUSAGE PATTY!(a/k/a: my X's OW)She saw me out of the corner of her eye ... I saw her smirk ... so I knew she had seen me... and she immediately tried to hide behind the large plant that is at the corner of the hostess/checkout station! For a split second, I second-guessed my vision; but despite not having my hearing aid in, while I couldn't make out WHAT she said when the hostess asked to help her, I DID recognize her sickening sweet little voice (almost child-like).I love it that Tom is a big guy, because I slipped behind his right shoulder, got up on my tiptoes and whispered "Did you see who just walked in the door?" He gave my hand a squeeze to affirm. We finished our transaction and Tom put his arm around me (and put himself between me and her) as we went out the door. The minute we were out onto the parking lot, I turned to Tom and asked, "That WAS her, wasn't it?" He said, "Well, I didn't want to stare at her, but when the hostess asked what she wanted and she said she was picking up a carry out order for BEARD, I knew it was her." (He has only ever seen her once -- at the graduation picnic for Holly Danner last June -- and immediately afterward at the Safeway of all places.)When we got in the car, I said, "Tom, what do you think that I started feeling pooky when they called in their order!" He said, "Well, the timing would be about right. She showed up at x-time and when you do a carry out order, they usually tell you 15 to 20 minutes. Your X lives less than 5 minutes from here, so your intuition much be much stronger than you think!"WHAT DO YOU THINK?
