a typical day off work for my AH

Today is Thursday and my AH is off work on Thursdays and Fridays.  So today was a little different than a usual Thursday.  Normally he would begin drinking as soon as he woke up and continue until he falls asleep after dinner.  But this was not a normal day off.  Today we had to take his father to the hospital as planned.  So he started off as a usual work day but by thetime we got his dad checked into his room B had to get the parking garage and get a beer out of the cooler he'd put in the trunk.  This continued all day until we finally came home.  Tomorrow is another trip to the hospital so the day will be a repeat of today.  Then we'll be back to work and the routine of starting the beer on the way home from work and drinking till he falls asleep after dinner.  Is anyone else stuck in this rut?
