A Trip To The Mental Heaalth Clinic
Monday, January 26, 2009 – 8:25 P.M. I went for what was supposed to have been a family meeting at the mental health clinic today. Neither my brother nor psychologist could make it. My sister was not asked to attend. That left my social worker (Dale) and me to work on some things. Since the girl (Karey) who was here last week was still on my mind, we discussed that situation. I told my sister about her yesterday, and she became livid with anger. She, Dale, and my PCP, each told me never to let Karey back into my apartment, and if she somehow got into it, I needed to call the police immediately. Following that discussion, we talked about my lack of trust toward both my brother and sister. Dale said we needed to continue working on that in the future. When I talked on the phone with my brother this morning, he suggested I go ahead and schedule another appointment, saying that there were “several things” he wanted to bring up. I told Dale about this and said I felt like asking my brother what he had in mind. Dale said not to do that because he wanted to see everyone’s reaction. I decided to go along with that.

I\'m with Dale, he needs to see what happens when things come up, unrehearsed. You know we\'re all in the background of your life, supporting you.
And yes, as much as you want to be a compassionate and supportive person, you must direct Karey to not rely on you. You\'d be an enabler then I think. Supportive, good. Enabler, not good.
Hugs and Mojo to you Jim.....

I think you can judge whether you need to call the cops or not. In fact, I think you could be giving us advice after how you handled her the other day. You didn\'t seem threatened by her - just really, really inconvenienced. I can see why people get angry about her though. They care and want to protect you.
I wonder what your brother has in mind? Interesting. Dale sounds good.
Hugs and more Mojo!
Dale and your pcp took the advice on Karey even further.
This is exactly what I wanted to tell you, also.
Duct taping the door shut is another interesting option.
You sound like you have a good bond with your medical professionals.
When you first starting therapy with your brother and sister, I wondered how it would go. Honestly, I did not think your brother would continue. So to see that your sister and your brother are still open to discussion and improving relationships is pretty cool.
It does get messy at times, though. Doesn\'t it ?
Just when you think you know a person and know what to expect, they say something in therapy that can really be rather astounding.
Still, it sure is helpful to know how people think and feel about you and their family relationships.
Duct...tape......remember. I am told it even comes in clear now, if the old standard silvery gray does not match your present decor.
