A trip to see the doc.....

Today was 'visit the doc' day. I've been having problems with pain levels increasing, and I was due for a routine visit anyway, so, off to the doc I went. The biggest problem with pain that seems to not give me a break lately is in my hips, knees and feet.  It's really aggravating when your feet won't cooperate with the rest of your body parts! On a 1 to 10 scale, they've been around a 9 or so for a couple of weeks, and nothing seems to ease them. Had a discussion with the doc about the entire situation, from my head to my toes, and he advised me. Apparently, the fibro monster and the arthritis monster are both visiting at the same time, and now they are aggravating me from my head to my toes! The doc has done alot to help me in the last few years, but with these two, there's not alot that can be done...other than the medicines I am already taking, plus heat, plus a great degree of toleration. Told him I'm about ready to give up on the idea of sleep altogether! He did help me out with a few other things, though. I had found a new AFO brace (for foot drop) that can be worn without shoes and is waterproof, too! That's exciting if you wear an AFO! Doc had not seen it before, and was glad to know that it is available, and he gave me a prescription for one. Then, he mentioned a TENS unit. I have not used one in several years, and another prescription was written. I asked him if he had a prescription for a magic wand. lol! There's not one available yet! So, guess I'll keep on hanging out with the heating pad and the remote until this flare passes.......ho, hum....Hope everyone has a great day, and Merry Christmas to all!!!!!!
