A Time of Reflection

I just passed my 30 day mark. During this time I have not ventured or even thought of going into a casino. The reasons for staying away are many, however I am not going to stop and analyze each and every one. Instead I will focus on living my life day to day, forget the past and plan for the future. All my previous  addictions have led me to this point in Life where I stop, look around and ask myself........Who am I? Where am I? How did I get here? What have I been doing with myself? Then I realize, instead of facing Life head on, I have avoided all the hard work involved in being successful by "escaping" to my addictions of smoking, drinking and gambling. It was not hard to do. However stopping them and living life head on is the real jackpot. My healing process with my loved ones has begun, I have hurt them so much that it will never be the same. I am hoping that with the passing of time they will forgive and accept me once again. My head is starting to clear from all the negative thoughts that have engulfed me for so long. It is time for me to start on a positive road to recovery in all aspects of my life. This site has been so helpful, I am thankful that I found it. God Bless You All......................and may all your attempts at recovery be successful.
