A TIME OF CHANGE

IT WAS A TIME OF CHANGE ,
OF MASSIVE CHANGE FOR ME.
CIRCA  2006 -2007.

I MOVED OUT OF MY USELESS, HOPELESS,
PATHETIC NEGATIVE COMFORT ZONE ,
AND BEGAN REINVENTING MYSELF.

I JETTISONED ALL THINGS NEGATIVE,
WORKED ON DEVELOPING A POSITIVE ATTITUDE,
OPTIMISTIC OUTLOOK AND AN  'I CAN DO SPIRIT'.

I  STARTED FIGHTING PARKINSON'S BY MEETING IT HEAD ON,
BY MANAGING IT BETTER, BECOMING MORE INFORMED;
SELF BELIEF, MENTAL STRENGTH AND TOTAL COMMITMENT.

WORKING ON MYSELF, WITH AND FOR MYSELF,
MY SELF- ESTEME BECAME HIGH AND HEALTHY,
I HAD MADE A GOOD START.

I BEGAN TO EMBRACE LIFE,
MOVED ON AND AWAY FROM MY ISOLATED POSITION,
TALK OF A QUANTUM LEAP,
A BIG STEP FOR MAN,  ET AL.

A MIGHTY CHALLENGE INDEED,
WORKING ON MYSELF ON A DAILY BASIS ,
AS I STILL DO TO THIS DAY,
I BEGAN TO SEE AND FEEL CHANGES.

THE QUALITY OF MY LIFE INCREASED IN DIRECT PROPORTION,
TO MY POSITIVE INPUT.
DEPRESSION SUBSIDED,
I MADE ACQUAINTANCES THAT HAVE BECOME FRIENDS,
I JOINED GROUPS,
THE POSITIVE KNOCK-ON EFFECTS ,
BECOME MORE AND MORE EVIDENT,
PEOPLE REMARKED THAT,
MY APPEARANCE HAD CHANGED,
I WAS LOOKING AFTER MYSELF BETTER NOW.

I WATCHED LESS AND LESS TV,
DEVELOPED NEW INTERESTS,
FIRED UP THOSE I HAD ABANDONED.

I GAVE AWAY THE TRADITIONAL IDEA OF PARKINSON'S,
TO LIE DOWN IN THE AFTERNOON,
WHAT WASTE OF PRECIOUS TIME.
I'M LOVING LIFE. to be continued.
