A theif at work!!!!!

I went to work today and did my normal cooking duties for the residents at the house. Im in the middle of cleaning up ,out of nowheres hear 2 staff yelling my name. I run out of kitchen thinking there is some big issue with one of our residents. We have one guy who doesnt listen to ANYONE but a select few and I happen to be one of those people. In fact, they made me his advocate because he seems to have takin a liken to me. Anyhow when we went in today I was informed that this resident had been acting up today and keep an eye on him. I was the only staff working tonight that he will listen to so I guess I was being warned to protect everyone from him..lol. Anyhow I ran out of the kitchen thinking he had done something the way they were yelling my name.I found the 2 satff at the med room door and the LPN said we have a problem. Again I just thought this resident wouldnt take his meds and they call me to get him to take them. I looked around for him but didnt see him. I asked what was wrong. The LPN said that ALL the money in the recreation book was GONE!!All i said was  WTF!!!! About 2 months ago right after I lost Max someone stole one of the residents laptops. Then a few days later someone stole his gameboy. Then things as little as a fake snake and toy balls came up missing. Then the seat to someones wheelchair..I mean really? I cusion to a wheelchair?I thought right from the begining that it was the drama queen. And on that note SHE WAS FIRED!! YAY!! She pushed one of the residents and was put out on administrative leave. I told that story of her in a past entry but havent updated it so the update is..She got fired! Anyhow I thought it was her from the start when all these things came us missing. We had no thefts in the house until she started and she has been gone for weeks and nothing has come up missing..untill tonight. I have noticed lately that other staff come to me when there are problems now. I even had one of the relief workers that only works on sundays asked me the other day if I was a manager there. I guess she noticed Im the problem solver for everyone. Even when it comes to final decisions everyone leaves it up to me. I didnt ask for this role and have no idea why I was chosen. Even the managers are calling me to come work day shifts to help in office rather than on floor in evening. I think Im thier new manager without manager pay..lol..back to the story. The LPN and I went into the office to try to figure this out. She told me she counted the money and it was all there last night. At the begining of each shift, the med person is to count the money and sign off for it. So I got on the phone and called the last 2 med people to see if they new anything. They both told me they never counted the money. Great!! thanx for doing your job. UUGGG!, maybe if they had done thier job my job wouldnt be so stressful.So then I had to make the phone call to the big boss. With all the other thefts we have had I really was not looking forward to this call. I called the associate director and told her what happened. She asked ball park figure how much money is missing. The LPN added it up..256.00! Again REALLY WTF?!!! How can a person steal from these guys? They are only givin 35.00 a month to do outing like dinner, dances, shopping ect. 35 stinkin dollars each and someone really had the nerve to steal this from them? How much of a scumbag can a person be?It makes me sick just thinking about it. About an hour later the manager came in and went thru the book. I told him that the person I thought stole the other stuff is gone so now I am compleatly baffled on who it is. He said"me too".. we all thought it was drama queen but now it looks like we may be wrong and the theif is still in the house. maybe she did take the other things and this is a new theif but come on, wouldnt it take alot of balls to steal now after all the other things we taken?I work in this house with this person, have no idea who it is and a little scared that something of mine might be next. I work hard for what I have and have enough bad luck and now I have to worry about things like this when I go to work Does the insanity ever end?
