A \"Sweet\" Surprise to Watch Out For!!
HELLO FRIENDS,THIS MESSAGE IS FOR ANYONE WHO DOESN'T YET KNOW THAT 'SUGAR FREE' COOKIES, MUFFINS, ICE CREAM, ETC. OFTEN CONTAIN A SWEETENER CALLED SORBITOL.FOR MANY PEOPLE, THAT SUBSTANCE ACTS AS A STRONG LAXATIVE.WHICH CAN BE GOOD OR BAD, DEPENDING IF YOU NEED THAT.DIETING CONSTIPATES MANY PEOPLE, LESS FOOD, FEWER CARBS, RESULTS IN SMALLER OR ABSENT MOVEMENTS.IF YOU DON'T KNOW THAT SORBITOL IS A LAXATIVE, AND EAT MORE THAN ONE MUFFIN, YOU CAN BE STRICKEN WITH DIARRHEA. IF YOU WANT RELIEF FROM CONSTIPATION, EAT JUST ONE, AND ABOUT TWO HOURS LATER, YOU WILL PROBABLY GET RELIEF. AND YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY EXTRA TO BUY A LAXATIVE!! Anybody else have a story?

I found this out with sugar free candy! We were camping and I wore out the path to the bathrooms!
my dad(while in the nursing home)....was suffering with high blood sugar! my sister bought him sugar free chocolates for christmas and he proceeded to eat the whole box in one day! however.....he didn\'t bother reading the back of the box!! if he had....he would have seen where they printed right on the box....\"not to overdo eating the chocolate.... b/c...although it was sugar free.....you could get diarrhea from too much of it\"! poor dad! lol!
coffee also helps with b.m.\'s too! and...the caffeine also acts as a diuretic to help get rid of water retention! boomertoo
After I entered that warning about Sorbitol being a powerful laxative, with only good intentions, I worried that someone who wants to binge and purge would see it. Well, I guess people with that problem will find a way, one way or another! Thank God I don\'t do that--and I ALWAYS check the labels.
