A sweet child has passed....

I watched Iysabella last night so my granddaughter and daughter in law could go to a wake. My daughter in law's boss' grandson died. He was 11 years old. He had been fighting brain cancer since he was 2. My Ed, my grandchildren, my daughter in law and I had been praying for him since he was diagnosed.  Ed had left for Heaven before Ryan so yesterday when I heard the news I asked Ed to greet Ryan in Heaven. Christina said the parents and grandparents were "in shock, just like we were at Daddy's wake". As I said to Christina, even though he was ill, how do you prepare for your child to die? I don't think you can.
I know Ryan's pain is over...My daughter in law is getting me his mom's address so I can send her an FMO card and invite her to join. I don't know her but if I can help her in these early days I certainly will. Please pray for this sweet child's family. His name is Ryan O'Malley..
Dear God, please help Ryan's family to heal and have some moments of peace knowing that Ryan is no longer suffering and is held close in your loving arms. Please comfort Ryan's family and give them the peace only You can give. If I can be of service to this family please lead me to them. In Jesus name, Amen.

I hope the family will be surrounded by loving people who know how to support them....there is not only sadness but loneliness in death. Ryan is the blessed one who no longer has to endure this earthliness...this human form that is corrupt with pain and disease. God bless Ryan and his family and friends....my brandon bear hugs to wrap them in......dale, brandon\'s mom

It\'s wonderful to be able to ask Ed to do this for Ryan. I gave April her first \"assignment\" this past week when Father Chris told me another mother in our parish lost a daughter to suicide. It\'s a wonderful feeling to ABSOLUTELY KNOW that your child (no matter how old they were, still your child) is IN SPIRIT, with God, and can now help others in a way that we cannot. I will remember Ryan\'s family in my rosary tonight. He is now free.
God bless you.
