A Sister's Love

Many of you have read about Vickie, my little sister, in some of my journals.  She's 16 months younger than me.  We're very different.  She's very smart, getting A's and Be's in high school and college.  I barely got out of high school with C's.  Stayed on scholastic probation in college.  After she graduated, she became a high school teacher.  She was very popular and socially active while I was a wall flower.  She lost her husband several years ago from a heart attack. She managed to put both her children, a girl and a boy through college with the help of her husband's death benefits and hard work.  When her kids moved away, she moved to be closer to them.  She is semi-retired, taking substitute teaching jobs.  We grew closer after our mom died and she's kinda looked after me.  She never liked the rent house I lived in and when my health began to fail, she talked with our older sister, Sara, 10 years older than me, and decided I needed to get out of the house.  She searched for something better for me and worked her butt off getting all the paperwork in line to get me in this senior apartment complex.  She got some of her friends to move me in one day.  Well, my legs got worse and the doctors in my home town weren't helping me much.  So, she found a doctor in Dallas and we're involved with him now.  She set up an appointment and drove me there.  Seems simple, but its not.  To do this, she has to come to my town, an hour and a half drive one way, the night before.  She stays at my cousin's house that has a spare bedroom.  I go to the house, bringing Kit with me to stay with my cousin and her dog while we make the trip.  (Kit now has a girl friend.)  We've made 2 more trips this week for CT scans.  We have at least one more trip to Dallas to talk about the results of the scans.  And, this isn't the first time she's helped me this way.  She was there for my cataract and knee surgeries.  There's seems to be no bounds for her love and caring of me.  I have to be luckiest guy in the world to have such a sister as Vickie.

Wow! You are very blessed! Bible says you get back double whatever you put out there... Pay her back in good prayers - she certainly deserves it!
