A SIGN -- A TRADITION-- LIFE GOES ON!

Hi all, thanks for all the sweet remarks made to my journal yesterday.  I just read it too my husband and he said if you see it written down that is why it was a LONG YEAR!
For ones that ask my puppy who is now 9 months old name is  Midnight Abby Girl,
The one we lost was Midnight Zoey, so we decided on keeping the "Midnight" name going and with Zoey being at the end of the alphabet Abby the beginning is how we choose the name.  She is a very good puppy.  She had to stay in her cage a lot while we were at the hospital.  She was only 5 months old when Ken got sick.  Luckily, they say Cocker Spaniel's don't mind being in a cage.  She love life to the fullest.  Never seen a puppy take in everything.  She loves to ride and she sees every car, person, she does not miss anything.  She has slept with us since day 2 of coming to live with us and by 4 in the morning she has hogged all the covers.  She will sleep as long as you will sleep.  She brings a lot of happiness to a sad house right now and we are blessed to have her.
I don't know if I have shared about my sign:  but I was going to church 2 Sunday's ago.  I was at a stop light and in my mind popped:  I Need A Sign.  Now I am not sure why I had that thought, down the road was a billboard covered in yellow daisy's and in BIG BLACK LETTERS IT SAID:  DO YOU NEED A SIGN.  That was all you could see and I mean I know they were trying to rent the bill board but it was like a response to my thought.  Sunday I went that way again, I got to the sign.  It still had flowers on it and they were still yellow, but the big letters were gone.  I know that the company trying to rent the sign did not change it.  But I have not been able to get it out of my mind.  So I  had my husband drive by yesterday to show him, sure enough the Big Black Letters were still gone.
So I had been talking about it during the rest of the day and it finally got it point across to me.  Ken was a wonderful son but when he wanted to get something across he would be stern to his kids or anyone, not mean just wanted you to hear what he said.
So one day at the hospital, after the weeks of Ken not being able to talk, I said to his wife, I would just love to hear Ken grip again.  That was my Ken on that billboard.  So I finally got it!  He was saying "Mom, you know I am alright, but you still need a sign:"  I felt very comforted by this.  It has taken me 2 weeks to figure it out.  The billboard never had those words on it, my Ken did it as I passed by that day.  That was a great SIGN!
The sun is shinning again today, but today I have decided to enjoy it.  Today is my son's birthday and my husband's birthday.  Jeff, my 2nd son, started years ago to see if we could be the first one to call them on our birthday's.   So my hubby  had fixed some really good but really spicy catfish last night boy was it spicy.  So around 4:30am I got up.  finally I got back to bed around 5:30am, just as I laid down I jumped right back up cause remembering it's Birthday day's and ran to the kitchen to get the phone.
I called sang "Happy Birthday" son to him and then I said "Am I the first".  He laughed and said of course Mom, no one else will dare call me before 6:00 a.m.
Trust me if I did not call him, which for some reason years ago I did forget, and he was upset and says " Why did you not call me first this morning."   This has been something Jeff and I have always had between us for years since he left home.  So the traditions continues.
Today I know that Ken is wishing both Jeff and Fred a Happy Birthday so I am going to try to make it a Happy Day.  I love you Kenny, I know you are having a Happy Day in Heaven. Love, Mom
Hope you all have a Happy Day today.
Sandi

I still get signs - even today - from Shaun - For some reason since his death the number 13 stands out too much, way too much to be a coincidence. I was out today, and stopped at a gas station in Bordentown where Shaun lived - asked the attend. to check my oil, He came over to the window said I needed 2 quarts of oil, and also told me I needed antifreeze - the next part through me & Josh off - he said it\'s usually $15.00 for the antifreeze, but $13.00 for you......I just nodded and said, \"Ok\"....then Josh said \"That Shaun........lol\"........it\'s a comfort, I\'m not insane - it\'s been happening for over two years and I know it\'s him because 13 was his lucky number in life - lol. Nice to see you in a better mood today - wishing all of you the best birthdays you can have (((((((Hugs)))))

Me and signs are not compatable. If it wasn\'t for my youngest son noticing one of the signs on Richards first angel date I would have missed it. Some of the moms are right on top of it ...me not so much...Hugs, Inga
