A Sign?

Ok everyone - I am not losing it.  But really need to share.  I just called my husband on our cell phones.  His phone is set to ring - no ringtone.  Instead of ringing I heard softly playing rock music (reminded me of Rachel's music) and then a female voice shouting "Mom"...."Mom".  I answered Hello....who is this...hello.  I heard the word Mom 3 times and then (still no ringing sound) my husband picked up.  He said noone was with him yelling "mom" - the music he was playing did not have that word in the song.
Rationally, I probably crossed wires with someone trying to call their mother and they couldn't hear me answering.  But it also so sounded like the last moment Rachel and I had as we drove off to the hospital.  Her yelling "mom" at me.
Just needed to share.  You don't need to respond.  I know it sounds a little weird, but I also so hope my baby's reaching out to me.  Maybe I'm just grasping as I have been so down lately.  Thanks for listening.

We all look for those signs. Who\'s to say that they aren\'t our precious children reaching out to us?

Shortly after we lost Corrie I had a dream where I saw her. She was ethereal and far away from me and humming this haunting melody that I didn\'t recall ever hearing before. I spent the next couple of months after the dream trying to see if this melody existed and, if so, what it was. Then one day I heard it on the radio ~ it is a classical piece by Saint Saens ~ Aquarium from The Carnival of the Animals. Corrie loved all animals and always had an aquarium in her room ~ the gurgling sounds and tank lights were soothing to her. Since that time I hear it on the radio often and always feel Corrie\'s presence.

Recently, Corrie\'s high school cheer coach sent this note to me: \"That is strange that you told me about the singing because we had a cheer sleepover in the gym a couple of months ago and we had been hearing strange noises but didnt think too much of it since it is an old school. As all of us were already settled down and ready to sleep we heard very faint singing/humming. I thought my mind was playing tricks with me but then the other coach asked if I heard it. Then one by one the girls were asking if we could hear it. It sounded like it was coming from the hallway. A couple of us bravely went right up to the gate (it separates the gym from rest of the school) and it sounded like it was coming from the halls. It later stopped. The alarm was set on the school and that it why we cant go passed the gate. If it was someone it would have triggered the alarm. There was no music just a girls voice singing/humming. I didnt recognize the melody but Id like to think it was Cor just having fun with us. Ever since then Ive felt more comfortable down in the scary cheer office which is by the downstairs girls locker room. Even when Ive gotten spooked because Ive heard noises Ive felt her presence.. It was like she was letting me know it was ok and she was there with me. Ive had several other small things happen and I cant prove that its her or that it isnt. The other coach has had things happen in the office as well and shes convinced its a spirit.\" I sent a link to the tune and Corrie\'s cheer coach said it sent chills down her spine because it was so similar to the faint humming they heard at the high school.

I think we do feel a need to continue our relationships with Corrie and Rachel and we latch onto anything that even hints at a connection.

I choose to believe that Rachel was yelling \"Mom\" to you, letting you know she is there and I imagine she will be letting you know in more definite ways that she is okay.

Sending love and hugs to you ~ Debbie

Sometimes there will be a sniff of some fragrance... that isn\'t actually present. A sound, a sight. These things are part of us FOREVER.

Just reading this now and I noticed that your daughter\'s first angel anniversary is fast approaching. These signs are gifts of comfort from our children and any time I have experienced one it stays with me for a long, long time. Sending you peace during these days and continued happenings just for you from Rachel. Love and hugs, Joanie
