A really hard 3 weeks
I have been meaning to come on here for awhile, but somehow haven't gotten around to it. On December 17th I was in a hurry to get to a Christmas dinner/party via mobility scooter. Was about a block away, when crossing 6 lanes of traffic via a crosswalk, the light went red for me halfway across. Even though the traffic to my right had a blinking yellow (meaning, let people finish crossing) they didn't wait. I realised that the oncoming taxi wasn't stopping, so I turned sharply left. The side of the taxi knocked the scooter over, and I went sailing into the asphalt head first. I had a huge, nasty bump on my right temple so they rushed me to the hospital to do a scan. No concussion, but nasty bump remained. 24h later the bump had diminished only to remanifest itself as a black eye. The black eye is finally fading.
In the meantime, I'd organised my sons to travel to the US for Christmas/snow without me (as I know it would have been close to impossible for me to battle with the snow & ice).
I've had an excrutiatingly long/tedious & lonely couple of weeks, including several falls in my apartment, half of which including buckets of my piss which I ended up soaking up in my clothes at the time, the last of which happened this morning.
Now waiting for my sons' arrival from the airport (they missed their return flight).
Sorry for my excrutiating negativity, just feeling really beaten down by life at the moment.
(Oh yeah, the 2 year anniversary of my husband's death happened on the 1st.)

Anne I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through such a hard time. I hope that things improve quickly.
Love Sandy.
Holy fricken A, Annie! I can't think of anything to say that better explains my original thought so I wrote it. I'm so sorry that you are going through all of this at the same time. I thought my over two week first of the year head cold was bad. I will stop complaining now because I now realize it could be worse. What a pissy way to start the new year!!! I will pray that things get better for you. It is hard enough to go through so much. To do it alone after losing your other half, it's just too much! I am praying that this year gets better SOON! Oh my gosh! I am so sorry. I hope the taxi driver got some sort of punishment. He should have lost his job with a huge fine. You have had a bad three weeks. I took a fall from stepping on ice. I went down three steps. I cannot image the pain from hitting the asphalt from a freaking taxi. You are in my prayers also. It will soon get better for you.
What a horrible time of it you've had. I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. I have to give you a lot of credit for getting out there on your scooter. Is it badly damaged? I hope you'll be able to get more use out of it. Hope things are getting back to "normal" again.
Hugs,
