a question

HI Everyone,
well as you might know I suffer from depression and anxiety.   Some social situations I can deal with and others I just can't.
I received a jury questionairre this past Fri.  It says I have 10 days to fill it out.   I had been called for jury service many years ago when I was living on Long Island (I was born and raised there)  I went twice and they didn't call me again.  I never served on a case but went through the process.   That was over 20 years ago.   At the time I was in a different place mentally.    The depression didn't really hit me until after my parents died, (I never did deal with the grief)   I lost my home (we had to sell it)  and I moved in with my brother on Staten Island (I don't recall ever being called for jury service while there)
So I don't think I am mentally capable of serving this time around.  Ironically they claim they pick you from voter registration,  well I've been voting since I've been here never got called. THIS year, for the first time since I moved to VA,  I filed for income tax.    now  a few months later this comes.
Anyway I noticed on the exemption that you can claim a mental or physical disability.     I was wondering if anyone did this?
Also I saw you can claim a hardship if you are self employed, which I am.  I do pet sitting and dog walking.
I feel stressed about this.

Hi Lily. i\'m hoping all will work out well, and that you won\'t have to serve on the jury duty. i\'m not registered to vote, and haven\'t recieved one of these notices, but i believe it would probably be fine for you, to fill out the claim or could file for hardship. my mom has gotten jury duty notes before, and she asked her doctor, to write a note for her, and he did, and she didn\'t have to go. maybe if you could talk with your doctor, and have your doctor write you a note, you may get excused from having to go to jury duty. wishing you the very best with his. please keep us updated. sending our best well wishes. *hugs*

Hey Chris, right now it\'s a questionnaire. I don\'t have a regular doctor. I don\'t have insurance. I called my counselor. They don\'t generally write excuse notes. But I also do pet sitting and dog walking. My own business so I\'m going to try to see if being my only source of income would help. I think.they got my name from income tax. I\'ve been here in VA 8 years. Voted several times never got called this year for the first time I filed income tax and bingo! I get a jury questionnaire.

Thanks for your support
