A Praise Service

Last night we went to a praise service, a memorial for our dear friend who passed away from cancer.  He was a minister at our church.  It was an amazing evening, remembering the incredible man he was, how much he meant to everyone that met him.  He was so very special, but always gave all the glory to Christ, even in the midst of his illness with cancer.  His favorite verse of the Bible was Mark 12:30, which says to love the Lord your God with all your heart, your soul, your mind, and your strength.  We heard funny stories about him, cried with his family, and praised God through some amazing songs like "I Can Only Imagine", "No More Night", and "Victory in Jesus".  I thank God for sending my friend, that I could know him and love him like a brother, and for taking him home to be healed of his cancer.  And like my friend, above all else, I thank God for sending His Son to die on the cross for my sins.  L, until I see you again in heaven, Godspeed, my friend, and thank you for all you did for me.
