A powerful moment.

I had a crazy day, but it ended with an inspirational moment. I haven't slept in about 48 hours (long story - will tell you some other time - but things are fine) and then I was invited at the last moment to a reception where Michael J Fox was speaking about Parkinson's Disease, his experiences and the battle to find a cure. I'm not a big charity guy - I don't spend much time at fundraisers - but this one struck me as particularly powerful. There's something about Michael J Fox - eternally youthful looking, so earnest in his desire to find a cure both for himself and others - that hit a chord with me.  Sometimes I forget their are real people behind all of these horrible diseases, and I think of DS and my public service in too faceless a way. Tonight I was reminded that there are thousands of individual stories and personal experiences, each of which is so profound, which reminded me to keep pushing to do good. The world needs it.  (Apologies for poor English - I MUST sleep now).
