A plus for effort
I was off today. Prolonged it as long as I could but did eventually go to Walmart for a few things I needed . People still out and about most unconcerned... a few taking precautions with the mask and gloves. Still ok in our county.
A coworker texted me and said work was hopping again and she was pulled from her dept to guard freight being stored in some vacant space . We have a vacant liquor store inside our store. Corporate decided to use that (and some spare space at another store further down the line) to drop off some palettes of stock to go to further stores. That way our truckers can load up from there as opposed to having to travel all the way back to the warehouse. So they are saving some time and getting product out as fast as they can. All in all-- they truly are pulling together and doing the best they can. The VP of our company worked on Sunday to make deliveries to some of our stores. Most of us are frazzled and exhausted, but some of our big whigs have been jumping in and doing as well. (Makes a difference when they don't ask more of us than they are willing to do too) I have to give them an A plus for effort.
My hope is that this continues to pull people together for a common goal--- all of our safety and freedoms back. I have had enough of the division and hate mongering.

that's good your managers are chipping in. I agree that everybody really needs to pull together to get through this.
It’s amazing how well our store came back from bare shelves. Went in today for fruit and veggies and everything was stocked. Except tp :)
I actually felt guilty going because ,while I’m not worried about getting sick, I don’t want to spread it to anyone. So I’m going to isolate as best I can and only venture to the store if I really need to. Give you all some space. Thanks for the hard work.
I agree. I want to see us all pulling together to get through this crisis. I'm praying, especially for those who are sick and those on the front lines. May God put an end to this soon.
Today was another day from hell. I worked with 2 newbies (1 the old dude that gets on my nerves) Supervisors came rolling by and said hey-- we're here to help! I got excited and was thinking they were coming to help me throw the load and start stocking. But then they disappeared. I came to find out they were just checking to see how we looked, but then they were over breaking down skids to divvy to other stores for delivery. (in the vacant part of our store where the liquor store used to be. ). And again-- our supervisors and buyers were taking these deliveries around.
Then the store mgr gives me some extra hands to help stock. The only problem is that he had no clue , so waited for me to start anything and I had to show him how (would have been easier to just do it myself.)
Then we hear Wal mart closed (Think it was to limit the amt to 50 people at once.) So they ALL CAME TO US. 2 ladies got their carts of selections taken while in the ladies room. . (actually 1 had hers rifled through and some of it missing) I hear there is a list somewhere telling us who is and is not allowed to be open. And there is another 2 weeks of isolation.
And I have to go back tomorrow. :(

I went grocery shopping at 7:00am this Saturday morning. Generally there’s only a handful of customers in the entire store. Today about 50 people all at once went in as the door was opened. They dispersed pretty quickly. I was able to get everything I normally do. Produce was totally stocked. I was not looking for TP or hand sanitizers, but those slots were empty. This was made possible by people such as yourself. Thank you Kim for what you’re doing everyday. Hugs.
