A note to a friend
Some things are better... Some far worse. You know I broke my back, and though I no longer use a cane, reentering the work force remains a challenge. I may lose my home next year... Too soon to know on that account, but the way forward is indeed beset with peril. But among other things I pursue my art. I am told that I write exceedingly well, sometimes in a way that can touch people deeply. This is stunning, in that I was always miserable at English. Apparently three decades of reading have served me well, and for that I am grateful. To discover that you may possess something unique upon turning 50 is a gift most precious. I'm trying to find a focus to pursue some interesting vein. I find myself slipping poetry into little things all of the time. Little money in poetry, but it does wonders for the soul. Besides that I'm dating and what not. I'm glad you bought a home. Something else thats good for the soul. Allow your art to spill freely there, and you will sleep well, always.
