A Nice Visit with My Brother

Saturday, December 6, 2008 – 2:55 P.M.  This weekend has started out nicely. I hope that it continues that way.   My brother (Lee), one of his daughters, and one of his grandchildren, brought me a live, Pine, Christmas tree today. They put it up, strung lights, and added a wide variety of ornaments to it. They also put other decorations throughout my living room.   For the first time in a very long time, I felt at ease being around my brother. I no longer felt any fear or apprehension about it. Both of us were in good moods, which made it easier.   During most of the time that my brother was here, he went around my apartment and pointed out pieces of furniture that he thought should be replaced. He said that if I accepted his previous offer of money I would be in a position to do that.   Growing tired of hearing him trying to talk me into taking this money, I thanked him and said that I would take it. That seemed to make him happy. (Even if I do not take anything from him, I will at least get some peace and quiet for the time being.).   The only thing I have to figure out now is how I can tell my sister that I am not going to accept her offer of her old Christmas tree without hurting her feelings. I guess that I will cross that bridge when I get to it.
