A new year, a "new" start!

Well we are already a few days into the new year but so far so good! I am now 64 days without gambling, and feeling pretty positive about everything. I have made some big changes in my relationship with my wife and with our money, and I think things are a lot better. I put some Christmas money we received, about $300 in my wallet last wknd, and I think it was 2 or 3 days later that I had forgotten it was even there but my wife sent me a msg asking if I was going to deposit it, and that she was trusting me with that money. I had not even considered gambling with it, which I think hopefully is a good sign! When she mentioned it though it then did cross my mind, that I had the power to go and to gamble - I had not even really had that option before the Christmas break, bc of lack of money, and during the Christmas break because all of our time was spent together! But now that I had the, let's call it "availability", I decided not to even give it a second thought. Not only would it be stupid and obviously a huge risk, gambling not just "our" money - since its no longer mine and hers separately, but also gambling our relationship, because even a little stunt like taking that money and losing it would likely be the last straw. Also despite being home alone with no "work" for the last 3 days, I have had a ton of stuff to do, and I have barely made a dent in my to-do list.
It's a good start to a new year, I am thinking the last 2 months of 2012 was a good warm-up for an excellent campaign in 2013, to complete my first year without gambling since I started with this horrible addiction over 10 years ago! Time to spend my time and money on bigger more important things! Gotta work hard and save up, one day soon my dream of owning my own business will happen!
