A New Year

Tim admitted to the councilor that when I got sick that he had mentally labeled me as just a "tag-a-long", since my own dreams and ambitions had been dashed!  He realized how wrong he was, and that I am still a life-partner ----- not a piece of inanimate luggage.  He is now treating me like a partner.  Our marriage is much, much, better!!!  I still have dreams and ambitions, although they may be more difficult to attain and I may have to downgrade a little!
Health wise ..... Another story.  I got stupid at the end of November/beginning of December and stopped taking my meds for about 3 weeks!  I've been paying the price for my stupidity ---  CRASH ------ pain and exhaustion!!!  I've been back on my meds for about a week and a half, now.  I'm getting better, but I'm not nearly as strong as I was in September and October.
I need energy!  I have a pair of jeans each to fix for my son-in-law and my husband.  And, just minutes ago my mom brought my brother's insulated winter coat over here for me to see if I can put a new zipper in it.  I can do it, but what a job!

I've been cooking a lot, and Tim is helping in the kitchen.  Tuesday I made a hickory nut pie and a homemade deep dish pizza.  Tim cleaned up behind me!  Right now, I have pumpernickel bread going in the bread machine per Tim's request to go with tonight's supper.  I have already made a cranberry salad and baked ham.  Shortly, I will make honey-glazed gingered black-eye pea casserole.   The ham and black-eyed peas are our traditional New Year's Day supper fare for luck.
This morning, Tim made the one dessert for us that he knows how to make:  chocolate-covered peanut butter balls --- I think you non-Southerners call them buckeyes.
For all of us and our families, I hope and pray that 2015 will be better than 2014!!!                        Happy New Year to all of my friends on DS.

What you are describing is nothing short of a miracle. Obviously The Lord spoke to his heart and brought about this awakening. I am so happy to hear it. Much love to you.

Apologies for just seeing this now. I am SO HAPPY to hear all this especially loving your yummy talk of food. It sounds like you are both making your house into a home at long last. You are doing such a great job. remember to pace your activity and keep on top of your meds. I am sure all this good food will help your body repair and be stronger than ever.
Good luck with the home improvements. If you need to rest, do it! If you look after yourself those feelings of being a burden are actually less because you don\'t feel so ill. It\'s a weird one! Huge hugs xx
